1UP PixelWorks (“we”, “us”) operates the Android app Reference Pin (the “App”). This page explains what data the App handles and how.
Reference Pin is designed to keep your data on your own device. The App does not have a server, does not require an account, and does not send the images, PDFs, notes, or checklists you pin to us or to any third party.
If you use Android's built-in backup feature, this local data may be included in the backup Android takes to your own Google Account, exactly like any other app's local data. We do not have access to it.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Display over other apps | Required for the core feature: showing your pinned reference as a floating window on top of other apps. |
| Foreground service | Keeps the floating window running reliably while you use other apps. |
| Notifications | Shows an ongoing notification with a “hide all” control while a pin is on screen, as required by Android for foreground services. |
| Billing | Used to process optional Pro purchases via Google Play Billing (see below). |
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
Optional Pro subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We only receive a purchase/subscription status token used to unlock Pro features.
The App does not currently include any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK.
Reference Pin is a general-purpose productivity tool not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Because your pinned content and settings are stored only on your device, uninstalling the App removes all of it. There is no server-side account or data for us to delete.
If this policy changes (for example, if a future version adds optional cloud sync), we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
